Saved Padme from molten metal and reassembled Threepio after the armies left the execution arena.

They escaped and met up with Dooku in the hangar. Both Jedi were wounded and Dooku had to face Master Yoda. Dooku distracted Yoda by threatening the lives of the two wounded Jedi. He escaped and informed his master, Darth Sidious that the Clone War had begun.

After the blockade of Naboo, Nute Gunray faced numerous charges before the Galactic Senate. But the corruption among the Senators allowed him to buy off his freedom as he retained his title of viceroy even after four trials in the Supreme Court. As more systems broke away from the Republic and joined the Seperatists, Nute Gunray pledged his Trade Federation forces to the Confederacy as long as Senator Padme Amidala was assassinated. Jango Fett hired Zam Wesell to perform the job, but she failed in both attempts. Amidala was eventually captured by Seperatist forces at Geonosis, but escaped yet again. When the Republic Clone Army arrived, Gunray again acted like a coward and fled.
